I Was Thinking Vader

Cheney was as usual, articulate, well-spoken and knew exactly what he was talking about and had all the facts down. He came out ahead and like Chris Matthews of MSNBC said before the debate: Dick Cheney "squashed John Edwards like a bug."
Articulate? Well-spoken? Well, I would hope so. It's the least we could expect from the chief executive. Umm ... co-chief.
But "knew exactly what he was talking about"? Not quite.
This doddering old fool couldn't even get "factcheck.org" right. Hilariously, he gave the wrong URL, which was redirected by its owner to a lovely Soros page. And the fine folks at factcheck.org have pointed out that their findings don't exonerate Cheney's performance at Halliburton.
Cheney wrongly implied that FactCheck had defended his tenure as CEO of Halliburton Co., and the vice president even got our name wrong.
As an entreprenuer, I hate Sarbanes-Oxley, but understand why people feel it's necessary. Dirty lying filthy cheats like Ken Lay and Dick Cheney made this onerous new government intrusion necessary. These fuckers damaged the American capitalist system by using it for criminal purposes.
What specifically did Cheney do? He lied in the reporting of income and earnings. I don't care if the SEC let him off. For a CEO to play dumb about an accounting change that caused a huge upward swing in reported results is simply not credible. Cheney is just as guilty as Ken Lay, or O.J. for that matter.
What else did Cheney pull out of his ass during the debate? He presides over the Senate most Tuesdays? Does two Tuesdays in four years count as "most"? That was a flat out lie. Never met Edwards? Another lie. He sat next to Edwards for a couple of hours at a Senate prayer breakfast. Was Cheney too deep in prayer to notice? Edwards was there when Cheney presided over Dole's swearing in.
Cheney also lied about his attempt to tie the religious fanatics of al Qaeda to the very secular Saddam. Cheney goes on and on and on lumping all Arabs and Muslims together, and then protests when he's called on his obvious lack of critical thinking.
Here's a little snippet from truthout.org.
Early in the debate, Cheney snapped at Edwards, "The senator has got his facts wrong. I have not suggested there's a connection between Iraq and 9/11." But in numerous interviews, Cheney has skated close to the line in ways that may have certainly left that impression on viewers, usually when he cited the possibility that Mohamed Atta, one of the hijackers on Sept. 11, 2001, met with an Iraqi official - even after that theory was largely discredited.
On Dec. 9, 2001, Cheney said on NBC's "Meet The Press" that "it's been pretty well confirmed that [Atta] did go to Prague and he did meet with a senior official of the Iraqi intelligence service in Czechoslovakia last April, several months before the attack." On March 24, 2002, Cheney again told NBC, "We discovered ... the allegation that one of the lead hijackers, Mohamed Atta, had, in fact, met with Iraqi intelligence in Prague."
These assertions that Iraq was involved with 9/11 are, of course, complete and utter bullshit, which is why Cheney so aggressively backed away from them in the debate.
So how do we sum up these two fellers, Bush and Cheney?
Bush is an incoherent man who is paying for the ravages of unconstrained drinking and cocaine snorting with premature loss of brain function.
Cheney is a lying thief, who lies so much that he even lies about his own lies.
i wouldnt rely too heavily on chris matthews powers of prognostication or acumen. if matthews strays too far from the flock, hes bound to get a prod stuck up his ass.
and mark, stop messing with the godsquadbot, its just trying to steal your lifeforce. its not a human being, just a dittohead in sheeps clothing. oh where, oh where is my cosmic shepherd? herd me, damn it! herd me!
Matthews says he got snookered 'cuz Darth Vader sounded like a nice old grandpa?
"Back to J school. No television hosting for you! One year!"
Yeah, the mess-up with "factcheck.org" was kinda funny, I give that one to you. Well, we can "agree to disagree" and I do appreciate the chance to post my opinions and I have fun reading what everyone else says.
BTW, "dave", I'm not a "bot", I'm a red-blooded, 100%, native California female and you've got to realize that besides me, there are millions of Christians, world-wide, who are also waiting for the Lord's second coming. (I'm not the only one who holds these beliefs!) And for anyone who trusts God and reads their Bible, they can come to realize that we're coming to the end of what is called the "era of the Gentiles". Not the end of the world, as some have mistakenly called it. It says in the Bible, God says, this world is without end. The earth will be here forever. Although, in Revelation, it does say that at the end of the Millenial reign, the "first 1,000 years" after Christ returns to set up His Kingdom, He will make a "new heaven and a new earth." And He will renew everything.
But anyhoo......., I'm a regular person, just like you guys. Maybe my ideas on God seem far-out, but it's probably like that to you because you're way too immersed in the world. I was like that before I came fully to know Who Jesus is and turn from the world. That happened in 1983 when my oldest brother led me to the Lord in Phoenix. Also, knowledge of God comes with the indwelling of His Spirit, the Holy Spirit. I encourage you to read the Bible for yourself and open yourself up to the Lord, and ask Him for direct enlightenment .........and He said He will answer you. Seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened, ask and you shall receive! God stands by all of His promises to us.
And I am not putting myself above anyone, because God has said nobody is without sin, all have fallen away and all have sinned and fallen short of the glory and perfection of God and that's why the Savior was sent. That whoever puts their trust in Him and follows Him shall not perish but will have Eternal Life with Him forever and ever. And all people, everywhere, have an equal chance to turn to God. And children and babies who haven't yet reached the "age of accountability" will go straight to heaven if they die early. And only God knows when each person has reached that stage of accountability before Him.
I've had a lot of fun and it's been interesting posting my thoughts on this website, and I appreciate the fact that when I started talking about the things I believe in that it stayed up on the website and wasn't automatically erased. I was half-expecting that, actually. This is a very entertaining site, even though I don't really agree with some of it, but hey!, that's fine. If we all "did" agree 100% with each other on every topic, then we would all be "bots", fer sure!
Has anyone told Jesus about Vishnu? Could get kind of complicated, you know, both of them coming on white horses and all.
Hey, Mark, I need to ask: Could you tell me something. Where's the page that I can go to to register as a member here and not have to sign in as a guest all the time? Once, I did it many months ago, but I lost the info. I guess you run this PST website? Thanks, I'd appreciate it. :-)

Those "moveon" ads that I suppose are from "moveon.org"........(it figures,)...don't sway me in the least to vote for Kerry. They're stupid, flimsy and transparent.
well, someone that supports bush should know something about stupid, flimsy and transparent. why dont you tell us why you support bush? then we can call you stupid, flimsy and transparent.
I wasn't calling *you* stupid. I was calling the ads *stupid*. They're trying to convince me to vote for Kerry and it just doesn't work at all. And no matter what I say about George Bush, it won't matter because you'll just negate everything that I say since this is an *i hate GWB* website. But we're all entitled to our own opinions. I think that no matter what Bush had done, that many people would hate him....mostly because he's a 1.)Republican and second, 2.)...because he says he's a believing Christian.
And that many liberal-minded folks think that ANY war with an *R* on it is bad and any war with a *D* on it is good. I think there are a lot of people who are *christophobic* out there too(afraid, prejudiced and/or hateful against Christians) and many who are so wrapped up in being liberals, that they hate most conservative opinions and those who support a Republican president...but there won't be a Republican president forever. Eventually, there will be a Democrat in office. The pendulum will swing back. I just don't see why there is so much hate-mongering against Bush. I think it's mostly just old prejudices rising to the surface. And because it just seems to be the *in* thing to hate George Bush.
why dont you tell us why you support bush?
As a president, I like George W. and his wife Laura. I believe what he's trying to do in Afghanistan and Iraq is right, that he's trying to change the face of the Middle East. I know he isn't *perfect*, but no president can be all things to all people. One thing I wish he'd be tougher on is protecting our borders, because I do know that along with innocent illegal Mexicans coming into our country, there are also Islamic jihadists coming through the south-western border.
Probably the Canadian border too, but mostly the Mexican border. Illegal immigration is something that neither party chooses to address. One thing I agree with is that the U.S. must remain an ally of Israel and Bush recognizes that. There's one thing though. I don't think that we should ever push Israel to let anyone take over another inch of their own land.
But all in all, I think that Bush is doing a pretty good job. I prefer him over Kerry. Also, he doesn't support government funding for stem-cell research if it involves using human fetal tissue. That research can be accomplished using other tissue that's not from unborn babies that are aborted. Also, I support him because he's a Christian and stands by his faith in God. That's a personal aspect of it. Kerry says that he's a Catholic but from what I've heard out of him, I don't care for his policies or how he voices his opinions. Most of what he says is on the negative side and he hasn't really said much about what, if anything he would do differently in Iraq if he were president. I think he said that he'd keep our forces in Iraq, even if he were elected. He even said that he would build-up our military there, because he doesn't think that we're doing a good enough job and need more military people in Iraq to get the job done. In that respect, he doesn't seem to differ too much from Bush.
Everything turned out differently after we were attacked on 9-11. One thing: We haven't had another attack within our country since then, which shows me that something is working, in respect to how this administration is going about its job. And I do know also, that under this president, our secret forces have been able to arrest some terrorists who have planned attacks within our own borders and thwarted their efforts before they were able to get their plans off the ground. And they have been able to seize a lot of terrorists abroad. Those are some of my main reasons why I'm in support of Bush and this administration. I believe that Bush is doing all he can to protect the U.S. from our enemies.
GWB earned any hate that he's getting on this page. I've known of the Bush family since I was a child living in Texas. When Junior was running for president (and while he was stealing the election in Fla.), I was bemused. I was amazed at how this country could pick such an incurious man for such an important position. But I didn't really know much about him or the people that surrounded him.
But as I've seen his policies unfold, and seen how he and his entourage respond to criticism, I've developed a very strong dislike for this man. It's rooted not in personal enmity, but in my disdain for ignorance, cruelty, mendacity and avarice.
He's a stupid, arrogant man who's making mistakes that Americans will be paying for over several decades. Think of Roosevelt -- the gratitude of western Europe, the founding of the U.N., the foundation for generations of economic prosperity, the respect of the world. Think of G.W. Bush -- and the opposite of all that stuff.
...and so, you think Kerry's a great alternative to Bush? You "do" know that those who are in power running the gov't., they never tell the whole truth about everything? And at times they lie. Or they stretch the truth, however you want to put it. I still don't see any convincing evidence from your side in regards to Bush. You think that if Kerry is elected he'll always tell the American people the whole truth for all his actions while he's president? No, he won't.
We still haven't been hit by another attack like on 9/11. Don't you think that Bush is trying to protect us from another such attack? I guess that just doesn't count for ANYTHING with you, does it?? It seems like all you can do is hurl various accusations against Bush that are most likely grounded in things you've heard or read, that are probably emanating from the Demon-Cats who hate his guts because he's presently in power as commander-in-chief. They can't stand it that a Republican is president. And they can't stand it that when he dares to make a decision, he stands by what he decides to do.
Do you also hate his advisors? Such as Condoleezza Rice? I think she's wonderful. I even ordered a couple biographies of her life from Amazon.com. She could even run for president if she wanted to. She could probably win too, because she's brilliant.
Did you realize that the majority of our military who are in Iraq and Afghanistan believe in their mission and what they're trying to accomplish? Or are you just going to *pooh-pooh* that too? Did you realize that even in WWII, that we bombed the hell out of Dresden??... and the U.S. and the Russians had to go street-to-street and house-to-house to hunt down the Nazi hold-outs that were still fighting for their cause? Did you know that it took us a few years to root all of the enemy -- in Germany? But that if we hadn't have toppled the Nazi regime, and Hitler, that you would probably be speaking German right now?
That the U.S. unleashed two atomic bombs in Japan to bring an end to WWII.? Otherwise, millions more on both sides would've been killed for years to come if we hadn't nipped it in the bud? I still know that I believe in what Bush is trying to accomplish in Iraq, and he's trying to do it with a minimum loss of life. But that still war is not pretty but sometimes necessary? That the only thing that our enemies understand is "Force"? What are we supposed to do, wait here like sitting ducks for the next attack from the Islamic facsists??
What do you want for us to do? Do you want for America to hide under the blankets and try and see if another useless U.N. agreement will fix everything? Kerry wants to let the U.N. be more in control of how we defend our own country. We should boot that good-for-nothing body of nincompoops out of our country! They're useless and they're also anti-semetic, they don't support Israel either! And Israel is the only Democratically run country in the MidEast!
Anyway, I'm sure you have all kinds of reasons you can pull out of your hat about why you just hate Bush. And I'm going to stop posting on this site anyway. You know what I think? I think you're the liar. I think you care more about how other countries think of us, you don't care that we're in a war now. A real war on the terrorists who want to kill us and take over. Sometimes, especially since we are the world's foremost Superpower, we have to do some things and take actions that not every nation will agree with. Did you know that it's been proven that France was in cahoots with Saddam?
I guess you don't care about that though. You just want to hate Bush and find more reasons to hate him. Go ahead.
Have at it! And have fun, the page is all YOURS now, you have the floor again. And I'm not going to waste any more of my time. I'm done saying what I had to say.
So, what you're saying is you don't want any of the bumperstickers?
Oh, guess what? Some equipment that the IAEA was trying to keep track of in Iraq has walked away. Saddam let the IAEA into Iraq, but Dumbya couldn't be bothered to let the IAEA do their job. This is a prime example of how stupid, violent people in the Bush administration make the world more dangerous.
"Do you also hate his advisors?"
Other than Paul Wolfowitz, I haven't devoted much virtual ink to the various miscreants surrounding the president, such as Donald "Wrong? You Bet!" Rumsfeld, Douglas "AIPAC" Feith, etc. But I did have this to say about Rice a couple months ago ...
Condoleezza Rice, a key bulwark in our national security, gave a laundry list of largely specious justifications for the invasion of Iraq on Meet the Tim. Among these was: "[Saddam] was tying down our forces in Saudi Arabia."
Glad we don't have that problem any more. Thanks Rice!
Tom Tomorrow captures the hijinks of this ship of fools pretty well in a recent cartoon, using their own words.
more on the morris ads
"I have a joke — the joke was, if I can humanize Robert McNamara, I can humanize anybody." Ick. Didn't know Morris was a rich ad man when not making films humanizing Robert McNamara. I didn't like that there were different cuts of the Christian ads--it made them seem fake.
dont worry, tom. im sure theres a special circle in hell people that work in advertising.
No, advertising is good, it helps us to know about products and services that we wouldn't otherwise hear about in a complex world and blah blah.

Glad we don't have that problem any more. Thanks Rice!

"I have a joke — the joke was, if I can humanize Robert McNamara, I can humanize anybody." Ick. Didn't know Morris was a rich ad man when not making films humanizing Robert McNamara. I didn't like that there were different cuts of the Christian ads--it made them seem fake.

No, advertising is good, it helps us to know about products and services that we wouldn't otherwise hear about in a complex world and blah blah.
