My personal impression is that the German authorities are very effective when it comes to analyzing the terrorist threat in this country. They have good contacts, good links to various cells not only in Germany. And it is indeed quite embarrassing that the American authorities, namely the CIA, did not take this note seriously, and did not inform the FBI on this potential terrorist attack, although it could have been prevented. Of course, there have been other factors that have indicated before that the security apparatus in American did not really do all too well. And this is just another example for the blunt failure of especially the CIA in this context.

I don't think Michael will get an invite from Fox News Channel anytime soon.
