I have been remiss in posting to my lovely new branch provided
by Jim. As a friend once said (to the great embarrasment of our
adolescent selves): "Too much happiness." Nothing related
specifically to Winter Solstice, Christmas, Ramadam, or the
imminent new Milennium, merely calendar licensed excess. I
strongly recommend using this time unwisely. The season,
whatever you care to call it, also brings communiques from absent
friends. Voices on answering machines, pixilated portraits of a life
lived elsewhere. However, I can't help wondering about their
speckled flesh, the smell of them, their new shoes and their
laughter: I want them in the flesh. Anyway, I'm delighted to be
here and wanted to wish you all joy and resilience for this new bit
of time.
