What's the east coast consensus on the Nantucket Sound wind farm?
The private, commercial use of Federal property raises some interesting questions. Why no lease requirements as with off shore oil?
I know we've talked about wind power and birds before, but I couldn't find the thread. So I'll put this here: A new Dutch study finds that migrating birds stay clear of (off shore) wind farms. Doesn't really sound definitive, but maybe the risk to birds has been over stated?
Interesting. Perhaps migrating birds learn more quickly. In the east SF bay hills, a lot of predatory birds are lost in the blades.
