i was thinking about making a ww2 german helmet pendant light so i started looking around at what was out there. trench art is not specifically a usa thing, but.... if you win, then there is the spoils of war thing:

According to 50 USCS § 2204 [Title 50. War and National Defense; Chapter 39. Spoils of War], spoils of war means enemy movable property lawfully captured, seized, confiscated, or found which has become United States property in accordance with the laws of war.
lots of kids of my generation had german (nazi) trophy shit hanging around from their plundering dads. also army surplus crap from korea and ww2 was cheep for boomer kids. hippie freaks wore army jackets and check out the us badges on the ramones leather mc jackets for more assimilated militaria.
