fuzzy iphone 4 shot from studio b. (basement). three 28 x 80" hollow core doors = 80" x 84". gesso, graphite and oil paint. also threaded rod, washers and nuts to bolt panels together. second coat of oil to follow. there are three other possible variations for this painting in this format.

Seems like there should be more than three variations, unless the hardware is limiting you?

A.W. true, but. three more acceptable to me. not all permutations of a theme are successful. but in short i will switch the red and black portions and I will stack the doors horizontal. two each, one already done. Thanks skinny. once these are hung on the studio wall i can get a good installation shot.

no, just three of the same 28" x 80" slab door. I will bolt them together from the side and behind with 1/4 threaded rod, nuts and washers. 28 (Jeld-wen off the shelf at HD) x 3 was the closest to square i could make it. they don't make 26.67", so this is as close to square as i could get. which is good. it breaks the symmetrical nature of the original concept.
