The action was relentless. Stuffy bosses bawled out hapless underlings. Sidekicks in gorilla masks skidded onstage and off, played banjos, beaned each other with umbrellas.
Icky sprang to life 50 years ago on KTVT-TV (Channel 11) with the premiere of the homegrown kids' show Slam Bang Theater, whose silver anniversary will be celebrated in Fort Worth next month.
