12 inch is fine.....the real issue would be if
the larger square on the right side would it fit a 32' flat TV??
its 9.5 inch deep so set there, but its 31 wide and 22 high w/o stand.....
so if the middle bar is set in direct middle we set there, but the height could kill this as I bet that shelf is 24 inch (2/5's of 60), and TV looks 24+ high....
