Looks like the Verizon iPhone will finally be announced on January 11th. Good bet to go on sale February 3rd. Ken, your long wait is over (although now Android handsets are so good that Verizon/Apple isn't the world beating dream team it once would have been.) Still, I expect them to sell the heck out of it. I'll be curious if Apple was able to keep 100% of the power like they did with AT&T, or whether Verizon will be able to screw things up with their own software add-ons.

Compared to other verizon phones, the droid is unencumbered. The biggest deal is it won't work as a wifi AP without being rooted.

Yup. iPhone on Verizon. Available early next month. CDMA (not LTE) as expected.

$199 for the 16GB, $299 for 32GB -- mobile hotspot included. Up to 5 devices. That's a surprise. But how useful it is depends in some part on the plans. If there is a 200MB data cap then the hotspot isn't too useful. If it's unlimited then it's completely amazing. I guess it will be somewhere in between.

$30 / month for "unlimited" data. Plus another $20 for the hotspot feature. Not too bad really.

I think they're trying to take it to ATT based on better data plans. ATT is all, "No way! CDMA is teh slow." Verizon customers are like, "Way! CDMA beats the hell out of no fucking bars."

Unlimited data on ATT?
