I've heard "AVC" doesn't mean "AVC main profile". Insert sad face. CABAC and B-frames are awesome.

iPad/current iPhone/current iPod touch: H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel.
Main profile allows CABAC and B-frames.
The previous generation of iOS devices are baseline profile.
Tegra 2 rumor-specs have AVC/264 support for CABAC and B-frames with some constraints on bit rates and resolutions. Full story probably won't come until new mobile gizmos based on this silicon emerge.
