Bedroom Buckyball, ink on cut paper, map pins, 80" X 75"

it looks like wallpaper.

Here's a closeup of another piece, which hopefully shows that the paper is pinned up with little map pins, and doesn't sit completely flat on the wall. The idea is, it looks like wallpaper from a few feet back (some people thought painted fresco) but it's really completely flimsy and portable, and can be taken down and stored in a 9" X 12" envelope. Yes, it's nerdy: like the physics teacher you described throwing a stuffed buckyball at dozing students. That's exactly the vibe I'm after.

tom ...you are SOOOO ridiculous! why on earth do you want to fit it in a 9x12" envelope? are you going to mail it to yourself? "yay! here's my buckyball again!" are you going to carry it with you everywhere like your favorite toy and pin it up in every guest or hotel room you sleep in? throw a hissy fit if you forget to bring it with you? hahaha. i'm teasing... i love it!

after lugging a lifetime of unsold sculpture and paintings around for a lifetime the 9x12s are starting to sound cumbersome too. cd files may be an option for a while. better yet lets make jim store it all here. by ther way stork, in preperation for a move to germany just willed me three tubs of cassettes.

Nice piece Tom. May I have one to store in my file cabinet?

I'll mail it to you. Some assembly required.
- tom moody 12-05-2002 12:20 am

If you send me one I will glue it to my wall.

Now, that's commitment!
