what is the story behind this?
It's a clip from the Cowboy Bebop episode Toys in the Attic. Spike leaves a lobster in the spaceship's refrigerator and it mutates into a sticky blue glob. I saved 8 frames of the monster "transforming," looped them at a lower resolution, and enlarged the gif.
