A while back I posted something about Ministeck fuse beads, a do-it-yourself mosaic kit made in Bavaria since the '70s. The images above come from a page of abstract patterns made using them (by "~syeapa"--who has an Art Institute of Chicago homepage). Also check out this rather obsessive assortment of label scans for the DVD versions of TV shows such as Different Strokes, DeGrassi Junior High, Buffy, Felicity, etc. If Marcel Broodthaers were alive today I believe that's what he'd be doing.

Update: The DVD scan collection is still going strong but the ministeck patterns have been removed. What happened? No lawyer threats, I hope. The page now identifies its creator as Stacia Yeapanis, artist and curator of the DVD museum.

Thanks for the post, Tom. There are still images of the ministeck pieces on my portfolio site at www.staciayeapanis.com. The page that you originally saw was a work-in-progress that never panned out, so it was removed. The ministeck mosaics come from a piece called "3 Days of Television-Watching."
And the DVDs are still going strong.

Another post by me. I noticed the link for the DVDs is also an old one. Check out www.commercial-free.com for the updated version.

Thanks. I can't find the ministeck pieces on your site, though.

The ministeck pieces are called "3 Hours of Television-Watching" . There are installation shots and details under the section Selected Work, 2004-2005 (roll over the blue, green and grey abstract image). There aren't images as you saw them before, so I'm glad you archived them on your site.

I love reading it by the way.

Got it, thanks.
