Five by Kara Hammond, an artist who showed and worked in New York for many years and recently relocated to South Carolina, where she is teaching. I'm writing an essay about her work and am using the blog as my notepad. Top to bottom (these are her descriptions accompanying the photos she sent--actual titles, dimensions, etc. pending): Airport Roundabout, Boat for Sale, Bozeman Storage Units, Jetpack (In Progress), Tybee Island Toilets. Some earlier writing on the artist is here.

All within the last 3-4 years. Getting dates would probably help, but it wouldn't explain any shifts in subject matter. To me it's all of a piece, I just have to say what that piece is. I added a link to an earlier post while I'm having my thinking cap laundered.

Enjoying the JetBlueSticka.
Nice brush work. Fun camp treatment of mountain range and storage facility; all that's missing is the big cheesy "Visit Montana" text in fat red script.

Overplays "technology overlays and replaces nature," an old message -- true?

My unit is #1815, full of records I'll never listen to and books I'll never read. Osterman has built another 500 or so across the creek. At $42/month, his crew makes some serious money.
