Where the Deer and the Antelope Play - DVD

A DVD version of my YouTube drawing demo. The quality of the photo is lousy, but quality is sort of not the point here.

***

Last night I dreamed I rented a car and took it out on the highway. I pulled over on the shoulder, got out, and stood by a wire mesh fence perpendicular to the road. A woman was standing on the other side of it. She had also parked on the shoulder and was talking incessantly into a cell phone. I started banging/strumming the wire mesh, which made interesting, peculiarly resonant noises. I got really absorbed in it. I wondered if the woman could hear them but she seemed oblivious. I walked back to the highway and saw a cop car pulling onto it after stopping where ours were. I looked for my rental car and couldn't find it anywhere--it had been stolen while I was standing there.

...and then you realized you were actually a two headed deer and that the women was a hunter and that her cell phone was actually a gun and...but then the cop saved you?

I wish I could say it had a happy ending, or that the dream had anything to do with the deer.

I started trudging back to the city. I saw one of my relatives coming out of some roadside establishment and was embarrassed to admit what happened to my "wheels."

how much is that video sped up?
- paul (guest) 2-26-2007 9:42 pm

hmm... car = career of a 'new media' artist, woman = art establishment... fence = web(internet), and relatives = relatives...

That sounds about right. I'll have to think through what it means, now.

Paul: what do you mean, sped up?

- tom moody 2-26-2007 11:25 pm

i think he means : its a time lapse video not real time. what % is the video faster than the real time sketch.

Right, and I'm saying, what do you mean, sped up?
- tom moody 2-26-2007 11:36 pm

(There's a point where open source principles bump up against an artist's need for mystification, as in "how talented is he, really?")

sorry, that's amazing that you can draw that in 7 minutes!! *wink*
- paul (guest) 2-27-2007 2:49 am

Actually the seven minutes seems like an eternity on YouTube. I know people use the scroll bar to speed the process up.
I believe most of the YT drawing demos have jaunty music running along with the visuals.
I wanted to be quiet and medieval, while at the same time wowing with my blindingly fast drawing speed!
