Thanks for your suggestions, Jeff. I do think that the pog meme should spread as a kind of anti-avatar, anti-content item that interacts with things like CNN obesity graphics and eventually, like nanotech grey goo, just destroys them. It can't be forced too much, though. A lot will depend on how infectious they are in terms of people saving them, using them on their pages... As opposed to the typical new media bright idea that gets a ton of hype among the tribe but goes nowhere, like the "Street Meme" site that had everybody all excited for about 15 minutes.
