and speaking of seventies icons, i just dropped a bruce jenner reference into a conversation only to realize that my twenty-something audience would likely not understand the attendant pun. the closest the came to recognition -- "wasnt he that guy that got all that plastic surgery?' its enough to make you mark spitz!
