Library Associates seeks enthusiastic and energetic candidates for the exciting position of Furniture Librarian in a leading world-wide furniture distributor located in New York City.

Primary Responsibilities
: Pull articles, samples, and other items from library collection and delivering to internal users/clients; items include catalogs, fabric samples, wood samples, and so forth; replace said items;
: Contact vendors for samples, as needed;
: Coordinate with vendors who give presentations to users/clients;
: Use office productivity software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other software as necessary;
: Supervise Library Assistant;
: Keep library tidy and assist users;
: Perform other related duties as needed.

Qualifications

: Must have previous library experience;
: Must have experience with furniture and handling furniture samples;
: Excellent organizational and customer-service skills.

sounds similar to a library in an architect's or interior designer's office. i actually put together and organized a library for the architect that i worked for - it was a really fun project.
what is "library associates"?

depending on the furniture it could be ineresting, i guess, except for the "Use office productivity software" part. library associates does staffing for libraries and archives.
