I'd guess the lower of the birds on the left, the serene looking one, is the female. The other two seem to be eyeing each other with malicious intent.

awesome! Thank you Alex. I've always liked cowbirds since I was a kid because they are easy to identify (the males, anyhow). Now that I know more about the females' aggro free-wheeling ways I'm kind of in awe.
