Stop the Pigeon

Muttley you snickering floppy eared hound,
When courage is needed, you're never around!
Those medals you wear on your moth-eaten chest,
Should be there for bungling at which you are best!
So, Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon,
Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon,
Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon
Stop that Pigeon How ?
Nab him - jab him - tab him - grab him,
Stop that pigeon now!

You silly, stop sneaking it's not worth the chance,
For you'll be returned by the seat of your pants!
And Clunk, you invent me a Thingamybob,
That catches that pigeon or I lose my job!
So, Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon,
Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon,
Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon
Stop that Pigeon How ?
Nab him - jab him - tab him - grab him,
Stop that pigeon now!

Upon tasting defeat, Dastardly would utter his catchphrase: "Drat, drat, and double drat!"

Thanks, Dave Dastardly.
Oldsters like me remember that Muttley's precursor was Precious Pupp, who had that same wheezy laugh.

I saw a birdy in the sky.

He dropped some whitewash in my eye.

I am so glad that cows don't fly.

precious pup (pulled from youtube for violation) would ecstaticly levitate when he ate a dog biscuit. and then float back down with a satisfied hmmmmmmm.

The notion that getting shit on by a pigeon is lucky is a classic irrational rationalization, convincing oneself that something bad is really good… say, that strategy might come in handy somewhere, like, oh, I don't know… Iraq?
(I personally have been shit on by a warbler, which is a whole other matter…)

a little late to respond but... one of the names I liked while Eleanor was still in the womb was Penelope. Yes from Penelope Pit Stop., one of my first childhood crushes.
