Can an operating microwave oven interfere with a wireless signal?

Yes.

Things to try:

If you know how to change the wireless routers settings - try forcing it to one specific channel. Try all of them and see if some are better than others. I've read many reports that interference will go away on low channels (like 1-6) but will be present on higher channels. Sounds like a bit of voodoo to me, but worth a try.

Rotate the wireless router 90 degrees (like around an imaginary axis going through the device and perpendicular to the floor.)

Oh thanks, I don't use the microwave enough for it to be an important conflict, I was just noticing it for the six minutes my chicken pot pie was in there. I will try the 90 degree trick next time, just out of curiosity.

micro wave's s/b baned, they distroy all the nutriants, turns great food into "eating cardboard", maybe tasty cardboard but cardboard

take a look at this frequency table -- microwave ovens are smack dab in the middle of 802.11's band
