who thought this was a good image for sherwin williams - toxic red paint spilling over the planet? it reads cover the earth.
i made a stencil of this logo in the east village days and did a few pieces with it. i king of like it in a graffiti sort of sense. but your not alone. google revealed several people pulling up behind a van (like yours) and then saying : "is it just me or..."
yeah, i figured it must be an old design but i didn't realize it was their main logo, i just went to their website. ouch. time for something new perhaps.
I've always loved their logo.
I had that "ick" impression sometime around 1965.
