Egypt cuts itself (almost completely) off from the internet. Shuts down text messaging. Muslim Brotherhood set to join Friday protests. ElBaradei is back in the country from Vienna and says he will lead if called upon to do so.

Aljazeera live blog. Sounds like Alexandria is already in the hands of protesters with the police maybe refusing to fight them. Incredible. Could Egypt really fall?

Biden: Egypt leader Mubarak not a ‘dictator,’ shouldn’t step down. Wonder what he thinks a dictator is?

can you imagine if the proverbial dominoes start falling in the middle east and its spun as a validation for the iraq war? then bush can join reagan on the conservative mt rushmore.

and im pretty sure dictators have mustaches so mubarak is in the clear.

If all the dominoes fall I don't think it's going to be good for the world view of those who would want to rehabilitate GWB's image. Like remember when free elections put Hamas in power? Not too many of them touted that as a victory.

Unless this really is all a clever plan by the CIA (link to Webster Tarpley, global warming denier and believer that the US MIlitary Industrial complex was behind 9/11 - so grain of salt, etc..., but interesting to hear another point of view.)
