Brainy NBC reporter says “Latin America has waited 20 centuries for a pope of their own” and I’m thinking it was only 15 centuries ago that the Europeans sailed over and forced Catholicism down the local’s throats. The realistic possibility of a Latin American pope is strictly a 21st Century phenomenon, but you’ve got to give the Vatican credit, it adjusts to demographic shifts faster than the US Republican Party.
