Not surprising that voodoo donuts was ranked most overrated worldwide just that salt and straw isn't in the #2 spot.
do people not know its just a donut? are the donuts just not that good? ive heard of them but did not know it was such a big thing. i listen to a comedy/fast food review podcast, the doughboys. they would put pinks hot dogs in la on the list. huge tourist spot. long lines. not very good. maybe they are just jaded los angelenos.

voodoo donuts originally offered novelty donuts with nyquil and pepto bismol glazes, bacon bits, captain crunch etc. they also played punk music so they became a destination. Years ago the FDA ordered them to quit with the over the counter medicines but by then they were an institution.
Salt and straw is and always was as is all ice cream (to me) but they had grand vision and its a 100+++ million dollar brand now, Danny Meyer when he IPO'd Shake Shack bought in..........house ice cream in Disneyland-World, etc etc etc
Fish Sauce Bacon Bite Ice Cream = 100 Million $ Value
