Finally reading Sants's Low Life and it has me scouring google maps. I have certainly walked by this building on Division St but I guess never noticed what it looks like from a distance. That or an adjacent building was torn down in the last twenty years.

i read that probably right when i got back in 94. sure i passed that building any number of times and didnt see it but was usually on my bike and is not as noticeable approaching from behind. could have told you there was a boba place across the street though when i first looked at google maps. also was a weird multi-street intersection that required a bit more attention than some. you wanted to bust through there quickly and then past all the street theater and dinge under the bridge.

still triggered by the covid-era boom in les graffiti.

There was a soup and dumpling place under the ramp to the Brooklyn Bridge that I used to frequent so I walked past that building often but always on the same side of the street so I never saw it from a distance. I keep meaning to see if that place is still there. Broth with pork and water chestnut dumplings, side of greens and a side of the city's best char siu pork.
