Referring to the last paragraph of dratfink's 7/26, gobs of fyre, I'm a prude, I admit it, but even if I weren't wouldn't those be kinda strong words for a bestselling author of adolescent children's books? Ms. Rowling's suggestion that someday Jesus will suck the greasy cock of the devil seems, I don't know, at least a little inappropriate, a little bitter. Did her mum run off with the clergyman and leave her on the steps of the orphanage?

me, bitter? never heard that one before. but i didnt write about metaphysical fellatio, it was the good people at the onion. as for my header, that was not a reference to said act, merely a shorthand for the title of her book. if it happened to dovetail (in your mind) with the last paragraph of the article, whats a poor blogger to do?

speaking of blowjobs, i would give the ny times a pair of golden kneepads for the way they got in bed with this harry potter nonsense. i just breezed through the archive and there were no less than fifteen hairy related stories published in july alone. and, surprise, there was an ad for the book on the front page of the website all month! take that pokemon!

  • redact--maybe the gobs of fyre mention was just a point of reference, not the bone of contention i had envisioned. ok, so im cranky when i get up.

    • No bone of contention indeed, good blogging, my dismay was directed at Rowling, not the messenger.

      • Beg pardon, but are we clear that the onion is a humorous organ?
