And speaking of mushrooms, how about this story detailing the latest largest known organism on earth, still a mushroom, this one covering over 2000 acres in eastern Oregon. The previous one was in Washington, but only 1500 acres. I remember reading a story like this a few years ago, except I thought it was somewhere in the midwest. I guess the title keeps changing hands.
