I don’t hate hummingbirds, I just think they take advantage of an undeserved reputation for being all sweetness and light.
Most of the species are in Central and South America, and no doubt there are collectors willing to pay for them. They don’t occur in the old world; Europeans must have been freaked out when they first saw them…
