Sad. I remember when they started as a little discount household store, then started adding a few clothing items, and the next thing you knew they took over a whole block in lower Manhattan. Shopped there a lot in the 90's. They even had one in Bay Ridge, which was a main anchor of the shopping strip on 86th street, so a big loss for the neighborhood. The Modell's there recently closed as well.
