thanks skinny for the following via email :

"Among the cast members were Sarah White (as Sun Green), Young's wife, Pegi (as mother Edith Green), and Larry Cragg (as Grandpa). Longtime Pearl Jam road manager Eric Johnson portrayed cousin Jed, a troubled man who kills officer Carmichael during a traffic stop.

Pegi Morton, a waitress who worked near his California ranch, is the second Mrs Young. He married briefly in the late 1960s, divorced, and had a son, Zeke, with actor Carrie Snodgress. But it is Pegi who, uniquely, is the collaborator he never reneged on, however hard times got. "It must be because she is a great woman. To handle me is not easy," he admits. Pegi has survived cancer and they have both cared for a son so disabled by cerebral palsy that he is quadriplegic and cannot speak. In 1980 Young made the sacrifice of turning his back on music to care for Ben. When, disillusioned by the physical regimen it had been recommended that he subject the boy to, he returned to recording 18 months later, his career entered a decline that wasn't reversed until Harvest Moon in 1992. Ben is now 23.

Greendale, it turns out, not only harks back to family values but is also a family affair. Pegi plays Edith Green. Zeke works backstage. Even Ben toured with them. His sister Amber, 18, is one of the dancers and her friend Sarah White plays the hippie-ish Sun, repository of Young's hopes for the future. Young professes to believe that young people will use the internet to save the environment. "There's no doubt green is the new colour."
