I've seen it elsewhere. I can only imagine the horror as it dawned on people that rotting whale meat was falling from the sky.
I watched some whale biologists dissecting a baby blue whale that washed up in Monterey. The odor was mighty powerful. That smell of the exploded grey must have been almost overwhelming.
