Wow. Reassimilated into the media borg is exactly right. They said it's "our way or the information highway" and he blinked. Kind of a shock. His reign as a true independent was brief and wonderful. No more links to antiwar.com, I'm betting.

i will take that bet. but it certainly feels less independent. the vanity fair masthead has minimized his grandeur rather than augment it. he has been reduced to a cog in their media empire. im sure he couldnt be more pleased to have links on his page to ym and self magazines.
