Hagel to step down. I'm thinking this means a Romney/Hagel ticket. But who for Clinton? Less confidently I'm thinking Biden, although the idea of having to listen to that guy even more than I do now is kind of sickening.

Who do you think for the Republicans? Who else can it be?

ill turn that back to you. what makes you think it will be him? you think hes going to ride high out of iowa and new hampshire and everything else will fall into place? hes a distant fourth in the national polls below mccain.

If Democrat Mark Warner jumps into the Virginia Senate race for 2008, he will start out with a large lead over two Republicans expected to campaign for the job.

In a match-up of former Virginia Governors, a Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds Warner leading Jim Gilmore by twenty percentage points, 54% to 34%. Warner also starts the season with a comfortable lead over Virginia Congressman Tom Davis. The Rasmussen Reports poll shows Warner attracting 57% of the vote while Davis earns 30%.

In 2008, Virginia voters will select a new face to replace the retiring Republican Senator John Warner. The retiring Republican Senator is not related to the Democratic Governor who might seek to replace him.

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has finally surpassed New York Senator Hillary Clinton in the polls. Unfortunately for Romney, it’s a poll measuring the number of people committing to vote against him.

The Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 44% of Likely Voters would definitely vote against Romney if he’s on the ballot in 2008. That’s a point higher than the 43% who would definitely vote against Clinton. Only one other possible candidate surpassed Clinton in this category all year (former House Speaker Newt Gingrich who is not considered a candidate at this time).

To the religious right base, Catholics are members of an anti-Christ cult. A Mormon president?!!! Nah gonna dah it.

McCain revealed himself as unreliable to the party insiders by being a "maverick", and sank his "maverick" image by humping Jr.'s leg.

Giuliani? Ha ha ha ha ha,

Old man Fred is the closest to the formula that has worked for them with the last two term presidents they've elected: lazy, empty-headed, macho poseur.

Massachusetts Mitt may be the biggest flip-flopper of all time. Even my Republican, Morman friends in Salt Lake are becoming squeamish about him.

watching bill maher last night you get a sense of how stupid most voters are. some psuedo punk (is there any other kind?) all tats and piercings as pro-mccain. his "reasoning," because he thought arizona was run well and that he would end the war. (actually, the second point im a little fuzzy on. all i heard was maher saying "you know hes pro-war?" i suppose he could have said that mccain would be good on war related issues.)
