My sound bite rebuttal: People afraid of the Fourth Amendment should drive instead. (Of course 30-40,000 people die on our roads every year, so that's far more dangerous than the risk of being blown up by the butt plug bomber.)

I'd actually be okay with bomb sniffing dogs. I'd be surprised if the peep 'n grope approach is superior. That would suck for hunters and other gun enthusiasts who might have residue on their persons.
