Went to see the trip in the theater. Light, funny, foodie. Recommended.

that trailer really tries to oversell the funny. i like steve coogan (you should watch saxondale, bill, before it expires from netflix streaming tomorrow.) but this i found annoying at times. i mean if i wanted to sit around the dinner table with a bunch of assholes id hang a couple of mirrors.

i would stress the light over the funny but watchable if nothing else.

"i mean if i wanted to sit around the dinner table with a bunch of assholes..."

I was ducking and covering at this point in the sentence but glad to see you went self deprecating.

lucas is kind of an attention whore yet all the ladies completely lap up that infantile behavior. yet if i babble nonsensically im a bore.

It's played broad for laughs. I bought in and went with it and laughed out loud right through it. No actual story though.

played well as a drive through the english countryside and as a portrait of self-serving celebrity. the only thing broad was the impersonations which got old quick.

All the impersonation sketches were broadening exorcises. Woody was slapstick.

Watching the trip Italy. It's as though they heard all the criticism of the original and redoubled their efforts to oversell the funny, if that's possible and I believe it is.
