never watched dune. has anyone? the movie is kind of a shit show. can see why lynch disavowed it. the original novel was inspired by herberts time on the dunes in oregon.

  • someone out there (not here necessarily) will defend it based on its unconventional nature but they are wrong. there is a new high budget version directed by the guy who did the blade runner 2049 sequel that was supposed to come out this year so you can wait for that one.

      • there were a number of passes made prior to lynch being hired. the jodorowsky one with the documentary about it but also originally david lean and ridley scott. hr giger was part of the jodorowsky team and then with scott. the two would go on to make alien a couple of years later together. 

        apparently lynch was not a sci-fi guy and hadnt read the book before being asked. he also chose this project over directing return of the jedi.
