i cant recall if ive seen it as an adult on tcm. never saw when i was young. seems pretty intense for ostensibly a kids movie but im sure pre-tv you could sneak through a few message movies. interestingly in the article it says hughes, who bought rko mid-production, had planned to make i married a communist as his next picture which one of the previous articles i posted said he used to root out "communists" at the studio. if someone refused to work on the project it was presumed they had communist sympathies which eventually led to losey being blackballed and leaving america.
