watched parts of cactus flower for the first time. think that was hawns breakout role outside of laugh-in. she got nominated for a best supporting role but if she wasnt the star then i dont know who was.  have to admit i found it somewhat confusing as to what the characters actually felt for each other though i wasnt completely paying attention. seemed like hawn was always trying to get matthau and bergman "back together" while she was his unlikely fiance, but seemed somewhat hurt when it came to fruition. one thing i found interesting is that matthau ends up with ingrid bergman who in reality was five years older than matthau, which seems rare for a hollywood picture, except that she was once one of the most beautiful women in cinema and he was walter matthau.
