| i think to jims point is that each of the future star wars movies will easily gross over a billion dollars not even figuring the merch. so the next trilogy alone should cover the cost of the purchase. i dont know who owns the future indiana jones rights, too. and owning industrial light and magic must have some value. the marvel deal was 4 billion as well and in some ways they have a deeper reservoir of characters and worlds to explore. although theres plenty of room to grow in the star wars universe as well. ultimately its good for everyone as lucas had sucked the joy out of his own creation. fortunately he released the property for future development instead of burying it for no good reason.
