couple of notes on turner classic movies. rob zombie will host a new series, tcm underground, presumably a cult movie night. and they will also air classic dick cavett interviews with hollywood stars on thursdays for the next two months.
Rockstar Supernova is a reality TV show where contestants battle it out to become the lead singer in Tommy Lee's new band Supernova. Somewhat interestingly, I went to high school with one of the contestants: Storm Large. That really is her name, and she is in fact quite large (well, tall at least.) I have to confess I haven't seen it yet though.
Jim, I got the first season of Lost on DVD. Watched the pilot last night. Pretty wild stuff! They're in an errant node in the space time continuum, right? Don't tell me!

just watched part of a 1933 documentary about life on the african plains. there are two more this afternoon starting at 130, although these are specifically about hunting where this one was more ethnographic. all of this is on tcm. also some interesting stuff tonight including a 1923 film that chaplain directed, a woman in paris, and queen kelly directed by von stroheim and starring gloria swanson. also late night, orson welles version of othello. and cant forget our old friend meet john doe.
Yesterday afternoon around 3:00 I noticed that ABC, NBC, and CBS were all showing golf (women's match play championship, men's senior tournament, and men's tournament.) Weird. That's got to be some kind of first.
