I _love_ this guy! Globe this morning, in an obit for Leon Golub, quotes him as saying "The uglier you make it, you squeeze out a kind of beauty." Don't know if "squeezed out" is the verb I would have chosen; it sounds too painful or grudging. There's more a sense of what-the-hell abandon to this image. I liked the little sideways snarling giffing guy earlier, too, particularly set as he was among all those delicate oh-so-pretty translucent pastel orbs.
damn! I didn't notice that Leon Golub died last week. sad news.
