I just discovered that you find out the most obscure things when you google Fiddleback Chasuble Sightings. At this site, I learned that they were considered forbidden and reactionary in some circles. (Exactly who is in these circles, is unclear, also I don't know where I stand in relation to this controversy. I am not currently oppressed by this issue, but perhaps I will be in the future if I give it some more thought, and if so, a scathing indictment will follow on this blog. All I can say for the moment is that it just made me go all soft and squishy on them.) (but I could easily turn on a dime) Don't forget to check his link for the
wildly popular biretta sightings.

I will admit that it is refreshing to discover a member of the Catholic Clergy that I can't accuse of a lust for worldly power (over me and all my friends). It seems that the priest, who writes the above mentioned blog obviously has a vocation inspired by the totally fetching robes that he gets to wear. From his picture, that can be found if you scroll down his wildly popular Biretta sightings page (his is a simple black Roman biretta with a pom-pom), he looks to be about 11, and if elected to the Office of Supremus Pontifex or, if you prefer, Pontifex Supremus, he could possibly enjoy a 70 year reign. And enjoy it he would! The best, most wonderful hats! Any type of vestment that catches his fancy! The fabulous choirs! A terrific apartment! Smart people to help him with his Latin homework!
