If only geography weren't so large.

Has "Oscillation" evolved over time? How's the live version vary from a web experience?

BTW, nice fluid flow dynamics.

thanks Mark! The Trouble with Oscillation has evolved a lot. I am embarrassed about the old storyline now, which is good. Part of the long term-project (ie: I'd better get it done by my exhibition in September) is to overhaul the website.

My freind Zeina Khan says fluids and grains are not terribly different (of course in my art I'm animating these classical world objects to strive for visual analogy to the quantum world which is impossible at worst, tangential, misleading and oblique at best. But then, that kind of describes a lot of art projects, so I don't feel so bad.) Zeina is physicist who works with an emergent stripe pattern in sand. She is presently excited about the fluids of John Bush at MIT.

Hey, i like the 'waterball' animation on the speaker. Kinda reminds me of the artist Rolf Julius. http://www.umass.edu/fac/calendar/universitygallery/events/RolfJulius.html
His piece 'Red' from 1996 is installed in the basement of the Mattress Factory (Pittsburgh). Two stripped down speakers are suspended face up just above the floor. A subtle soundscape is emitted from the speakers causing a layer of red pigment to 'dance' and vibrate on the upturned side. Very cool!

No slight on you Sally, but even a day pass is pretty steep. With all those sponsors I'm surprised a single session would be so expensive ($35). Just disappointing that's all.

And the postgraduate irony is that I need student discount more than ever before!

you are right Mike its a lot of cash, but commensurate with academic-type conference prices. And if you go all day it's a LOT of info for your dollars. I've been having a blast. But I'm too brain dead to make a full report right now.
