I've been listening to a press conference with the Toronto police and Islamic leaders held at the Islamic Foundation of Toronto, called because of last night's vandalism on a Toronto Mosque. One really important issue that was raised (by an audience member) was the 2003 arrests in a misguided operation called Project Thread, in which RCMP and immigration officials accused 23 Muslims of terrorism. Authorities were forced to admit later on that the biggest crime committed was minor immigration fraud.
