Great. That's sort of how I imagined everything looking in JG Ballard's The Crystal World, concerning a temporal anomaly that spreads like cancer in the equatorial regions and threatens to engulf the earth in a mesh of arrested, crystal like growths. (Similar to the spread of "luxury condos" in NYC.)
