Great opening too. Everywhere Carlo Cesta & Lisa Neighbour go is an instant party/love-fest.

Went to the Power Plant opening of "Auto Emotion: Autobiography, emotion and self-fashioning" as well. I was hoping that a show with this title would have some operatic moments of rage, sorrow and ecstasy, but this venue, being the Power Plant: an institution by the curator for the curator, can really only put on a rigorous exhibition about the idea of emotion. (the party sucked). Benny Nemerofsky Ramsay's piece was pretty damn wonderful, as was the Rodney Graham, but Rodney Graham seems to be the all purpose Canadian Art Star who's work can, and will, be placed in any exhibition at the Power Plant. The hyperlinked footnoted PR for the show prompted part of simpleposie question for the day #1849

It was all enough to send me running back to the Mediterranean Rationalism of Carlo Cesta. (School of Mediterranean Rationalism to follow, but he only made up the term a few hours ago, so he'll probably wait until tomorrow to get on that legacy thing and assure his place in art history)
