HAPPY CANADA DAY EVERYONE!

He's gorgeous!!
- KW (guest) 7-02-2007 3:50 am

He's staying at his foster home near Wasaga beach for a few more weeks because they want to watch some stitches on his leg, but it was hilarious when we arrived this afternoon because the rescuers are breeders and their own 13 Labs went bonkers with joy at the very sight of us.
- L.M. 7-02-2007 4:12 am

What's his name?
- J@simpleposie (guest) 7-02-2007 4:15 pm

His name is dreadful, so it is changing, (probably to something equally dreadful.) Can't decide yet. My first thought was Lumpendrool, so then R.M.V. suggested Baader-Meinhof (Brigada Rosa? Symbionese Liberation Army?), Rainer, Victor, Basil, Cletis, Fassbinder, Monty, Cassius, Rudyard, Wolfgang or naming him after whatever saint is celebrated the day he comes home.

Sandra Rechico wants him to be named Sandra Rechico.

Rocco's people want him named: Metello, Luciano, Bruto, Santino, Marcello or Cesare.

Then there's Bluto, Swee'pea or Boykid from Popeye.

I think I'll name him after a racehorse. (Greeter?)

- L.M. 7-02-2007 7:20 pm

here dreadful, here dreadful. im mean, here equally dreadful. good boye.

racehorse: stewball. my brother and i retrained our friends dog to respond to RABO. she didnt appreciate it too much.
- bill 7-02-2007 7:26 pm

Stewball is good.

He looks like a Darth Vader to me.
- J@simpleposie (guest) 7-02-2007 8:35 pm

Or a Jeff.
- J@simpleposie (guest) 7-02-2007 8:37 pm

or... Charles Laughton
- KW (guest) 7-02-2007 8:41 pm

No can do, no George Lucas (and no Jeffs, a Jeff once irritated me). And if we do take out the names of people who have irritated me, the field does get managable.
- L.M. 7-02-2007 8:44 pm

You go girl! Whittle away!
- J@simpleposie (guest) 7-02-2007 8:57 pm

I loved Charles Laughton when I was a kid, (and Bela Lugosi)

I knew a Basset hound named Glen Close-to-the-ground.

If it was a female, I'd name it Rose, after my mother, just to piss her off.
- L.M. 7-02-2007 9:04 pm

Bill, you've got Raybo on the brain today. (I love stunt videos, much better than being there, too much down time, they have no sense of performance timing for those events.)
- L.M. 7-02-2007 9:12 pm

Yay! I'm so glad you made friends. I'm looking forward to meeting Poliglote!
- sally mckay 7-02-2007 10:32 pm

Sparky!
- tom moody 7-02-2007 10:35 pm

Dave Hickey!
- L.M. 7-02-2007 11:00 pm

OK, go ahead. Please name your dog Dave Hickey.

- tom moody 7-02-2007 11:18 pm

(cackle)
- L.M. 7-02-2007 11:29 pm

Hiram (after Mr Williams)
- a (guest) 7-03-2007 12:51 am

Siegfried Fischbacher
- KW (guest) 7-03-2007 12:54 am

How bout just Darth. I always liked that name. Or TRON.
- joester 7-03-2007 3:15 am

T-Rex or Douglas Fur. (from Adair by phone. She actually had lots, but these were the only two I could tolerate, I'm not naming my dog Kidney)
- L.M. 7-03-2007 4:22 am

that dog looks scandalously cheerful. He might need a dangerous-sounding name just to bolster respect in the dog-park.
- sally mckay 7-03-2007 6:25 am

Ted Bundy?
- L.M. 7-03-2007 7:17 am

Toller Cranston
- Belle Barth (guest) 7-03-2007 7:33 am

Toller! that's a good one.
- sally mckay 7-03-2007 7:49 am

Belle wanted to change Thrush Holmes' name to Toller Cranston.
- L.M. 7-03-2007 9:54 am

he looks like a Licorice - you could call him lick for short - which would be a command that i bet he'd have no trouble engaging you with - or anyone else for that matter. he definately looks like a licking dog.

i really like "he be pretty" but probabaly best to not take my advice - since we have one cat named mo and another named thunder cookie noodle.

- myfanwy (guest) 7-03-2007 4:18 pm

you could enter Thunder Cookie Noodle in the Belmont Stakes.

He doesn't seem to be a licking dog, more of a slobber-with-joy dog.
- L.M. 7-03-2007 6:38 pm

Spittle. Mugwipe. Catarrh. Hork.

Doone!

I once knew folks whose sons were Matthew, Mark, and John, and the dog was Luke.
- M.Jean 7-03-2007 7:50 pm

Indiana Jones was named after the dog.
- J@simpleposie (guest) 7-03-2007 8:06 pm

First choice: rALFIE
Second choice: tongue
- GMboLM (guest) 7-04-2007 1:25 am

or Liver Lips.

(...sigh...I cried off and on for two years after Alphie died)

(time to get another dog, bro)

M. Jean, I hadn't even thought of plundering the new testament. ('cause Catholics don't read it, don't need to, not interested, Popes tell me everything I need to know)

(wrong breed to name after Ratzinger)

- L.M. 7-04-2007 5:55 am

When i was a student living in Italy my downstairs neighbour (a very large italian transvestite with a booming voice) had a rather scary german sheppard. I often heard my neighbour yelling at the dog 'venire qui! venire qui!', i thought that was the dogs name.
- mnobody (guest) 7-04-2007 8:28 pm

[...]

Shit, mnobody, the gracious host of Digital Media Tree made time run backwards! (or did we have a conversation in another dimension)
- L.M. 7-05-2007 9:17 am

...or are we really butterflies dreaming that we are posting on blogs.
- L.M. 7-05-2007 9:18 am

How many posts can you put on the head of a butterfly?
- M.Jean 7-05-2007 4:56 pm

ouch
