Ontario election today! I don't know why the cigarette picture came up when I Googled Ontario election, but now that I see them I want one.
Also a referendum question on the electoral system. The Mixed Member Proportional option will turn us into Italy, so I voted YES YES YES. They can change it back in another 150 years if it doesn't work out.
In other Ontario news today, Bat-boy was bitten on the head by my neighbour's new Akita.
I have noticed a few things about MMP:
1) The mass media keeps on saying that it is "confusing".
2) Anyone who has read anything about it seems to like it.
3) Anyone who has not done any research about it and choses to remain ignorant does not like it.
4) John Tory does not like it.
What next?

And if you begin the advocacy for it by stating that John Tory doesn't like it, you can skip the rest of the argument. (worked for me anyway)
Speak of the devil, John Tory was defeated in his riding. More of the popular vote for the Greens and the NDP, means the Liberals and the Conservatives will adopt more of their environmental platform in the future. NDP ran a close second in my riding (Davenport), the Liberal incumbent (who always sends me a dreadful card on my birthday) won again.
its not the best pr system availble, and this one is confusing, there are better options, first past the post is the absoulate worst though and
a) i think anything would be better
b) i find creation in chaos.
c) its a good thing for democracy's when the leaders do not know if they will win or lose the next election, as the castrating of harper by a minority pq/ndp has proven.

Thanks Anthony, I've noted the lucky penny and the screw as well, plus one of the packs is GVB's brand which means (if the lucky penny holds up) that he visit me soon with his cigarettes.

He'll live. The Akita just broke some skin on his skull. I didn't notice it until later. Besides, its not like Batty has any brains to protect.
