The first time I logged on a sparrow flew down and landed on the edge of the nest, then proceeded to hop all around the edge, apparently unconcerned that it was right under the hooked beak of a giant predator. No interest from the eagle. Maybe sparrows are too small to be worth the effort.
Or they might taste like parsnips
